About This Site

clippershistory.com is an independent, fan-built record of the Clippers franchise, from Buffalo in 1970 to Inglewood today. We are not affiliated with the team or the NBA. We are just the people in the seats, writing things down.

What we are trying to do

House rules

How photos work here

Sports photos are a licensing minefield, so we keep it simple and clean. We only publish images we have clear rights to: photos fans took themselves and contributed with permission, openly licensed images from sources like Wikimedia Commons with full attribution, and our own original graphics. Contributors keep ownership of their photos, grant us a non-exclusive right to display them with credit, and can ask us to take them down at any time. If you see your photo here without credit, tell us and we will fix it the same day.

Supporting the site

The site is free and the history always will be. As we grow, support will come from things that add to the record instead of gating it, like the Founders' Wall, a permanent page where a small one-time contribution engraves your name and your fan-since year into the site's history. Coming soon. No memberships, no paywalls on the past.

One more way we keep the lights on: some outbound links, like the books on the Required Reading page and occasional ticket links, are affiliate links. If you buy through them, this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, clippershistory.com earns from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links are marked, we only recommend things we would tell a friend to buy anyway, and no history content will ever be shaped by a commission.

Who runs this

clippershistory.com is owned and run by Peter Kim, a Clippers fan since 1990, which means Sports Arena years, Danny Manning's knee, and every bit of the long wait. Peter also makes videos with his wife on the Peter & Lisa Kim YouTube channel and writes about the best eats in the San Gabriel Valley at eatinsgv.com. Same energy in all three places: love the local thing properly.
